Sukina Noor

Soulful poet, spoken-word artist, playwright and educator

Sukina Noor is a poet, spoken-word artist, playwright, workshop facilitator and educator, artistic curator, writer and public speaker who has toured extensively across UK, Europe, America and Africa. She is the author of the debut poetry collection of poetry, Love and Longing: Yearning for the Face of God.

A founding member of the British Muslim creative scene as a performer and events organiser, and co-founder of the female hip hop duo Poetic Pilgrimage, Sukina’s work has been featured on the BBC News, World Service and Asian Network, ITV, Channel 4 and elsewhere. An Al Jazeera documentary about her group was called Hip Hop Hijabis, and in 2017 she delivered a Tedx Talk on the healing potential of poetry. Sukina’s poetry courses empower communities internationally to use the writing as a tool for dialogue, to access their authentic voice, and to awaken the voice of the heart.
