Interdisciplinary artist specialising in traditional designs and cultural meanings of henna
Medina Trevathan is an interdisciplinary artist based in the United Kingdom and Southern Spain. She grew up in an international Sufi Muslim community in Andalusia, and is today a keeper and researcher of the henna tradition, offering the plant’s wisdom in ceremonies, talks and workshops. Her art is inspired by the Islamic tradition, Celtic thought, womanhood and the natural world. For Sufi Festival 2025 she will be offering multisensory, immersive henna workshops touching on the historical, cultural and spiritual significance of henna.
