Dawud Duncan

Award-winning traditional Scottish singer, storyteller and musician

Dawud Duncan is an award-winning traditional Scottish singer, storyteller and virtuoso whistle, bodhran and mandola player. He has performed with acts including Gaelic Singer of the year Griogair Laubhridh; Moriscan Sufi collective Al Firdaus Ensemble; and festival punk-folk favourites The Ramshakle Band.

Since embracing Islam in 2006 while DJing at Glastonbury, Dawud began finding commonality between his religion and his rich cultural upbringing in the West Highlands of Scotland. Through his traditional music story & song Dawud hopes to challenge false narratives of East/West division – and welcome all to come together as human beings.
