Valerie’s interest in Islamic Patterns deepened as she discovered Sufism in 1990. After some years working in Egypt, followed by many years in Camphill Communities in Scotland, Valerie furthered her studies in Islam at Maktoum College Dundee and Aberdeen. Art can communicate Spiritual Truths and Islamic Art can be a manifestation of the unseen enabling a direct experience of the sacred. “As above, So below”.
